    The OR Nurse Manager's primary duty is to ensure high quality patient care.  Additionally, he/she is responsible for evaluating the performance of staff nurses, providing feedback and mentoring, assisting with education programs, and contributing to staff professional development.


    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership and guidance to the surgical staff including nurses surgical technicians and ensure that the staff is properly trained an motivated to provide high quality patient care.
    • Address any personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
    • Individually supervises, directs and implements patient care both in the operating room.
    • Evaluating operating room patients and plans
    • Implementing and documenting nursing care
    • Assists physicians during operating procedures.
    • Functions in a circulating nurse role.
    • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Current and Unrestricted Maryland State Licensure as a Registered Nurse is REQUIRED
    • BSN or equivalent experience as a licensed RN is required.  MSN or other advanced degree in Nursing or Nursing Practice Management is preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in perioperative services is required.  Experience in an ASC and / or CNOR is highly preferred.
    • BLS certification is required. 
    • ACLS and PALS certifications are desired.  If the candidate does not possess current and unrestricted certifications, they must be obtained within 90 days of the date of employment.
