Our Injection Coordinator is responsible for scheduling injections, checking in/out patients, verifying insurances, obtaining prior authorization for injection therapy, and counseling patients regarding insurance coverage and out of pocket cost for injection therapy.


  • Appointment scheduling.
  • Call patients for cancels, reschedules.
  • Call insurance companies to verify patient benefits and obtain authorizations.
  • Fax prior authorization forms, or fill out prior authorizations online.
  • Counsel patients regarding their injections and payments.
  • Review Daily schedules of retina doctors to confirm current authorizations.
  • Update all information for patients who receive injections through their insurance and with the pharmaceutical rep for the drug, at the end of every year.
  • Check out patients and schedule new appointments.
  • Traveling between locations.



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience in insurance companies.
  • HIPAA compliance.
  • Prior NexGen Experience is a plus.
  • Insurance/billing experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Customer service oriented with a focus on quality care.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Good customer service skills.
