Our Patient Services Representatives (PSR) are responsible for receiving all incoming calls for Omni Eye Specialists, Spivack Vision Center, and Madison Street Surgery Center.  PSRs will triage calls and schedule appoitments as needed.

 

checking patients in and out for their ophthalmic/optometric visits, verifying and collecting insurance authorizations, scheduling appointments and in and out bound phone calls as well as computer input. 

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments for all Omni Eye Specialists clinics
  • Handle all patients appointment cancellations and reschedules
  • Call patients for clinic appointment confirmations
  • Route calls to appropriate individuals or departments after exhausting all opportunities to properly assist callers
  • Take messages and delivery messages for doctors and staff
  • Triage calls to determine where the incoming call should be transferred and assist in determining urgency for call, including clinic emergency add on appointments
  • Coordinate interpreters for new and established patients
  • Track LASIK referral source data for every incoming refractive call, email and web inquiry
  • Review EHR chart notes to include with appointment notes for upcoming and/or scheduled appointment
  • Collect patient data involving medical, demographic and insurance information
  • Identify, research and resolve all customer requests

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Must have the ability to establish confidence and trust with patients. 
  • Must have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress.
  • Have the ability to provide excellent customer service, communication, telephone and grammer skills. 
  • Must have an empathetic and compassionate manner.
  • Prefer one or more years experience working in a medical position where patient contact was required. 
  • Knowledge of insurance plans is helpful.
  • Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to perform as part of a team as well as work independently.
